Prayer to Be More Self-Sacrificing

Jesus, we want to follow your example in being more self-sacrificing…

2 Corinthians 8:9 GNT You know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ; rich as he was, he made himself poor for your sake, in order to make you rich by means of his poverty.

God, we don’t want to be selfish and prideful, and we don’t want to horde wealth in any way: physical or spiritual. We want to be a blessing to everyone around us. Help us to be generous givers. Give us self-sacrificing servant hearts: your heart, Jesus.

Let our power and authority come from your heart within us, Jesus. Help the world around us to see that there is no fault in how we love and how we serve. Let your light in us shine to reveal that we have no agenda but to represent your righteousness, peace, and love in this world.

Holy Spirit, help us to be self-sacrificing without the expectation of any acknowledgement or vain self-righteousness. Fill us with your pure, humble Spirit, and build the fruits of your Spirit so that we can make our lives living sacrifices that are pleasing to you. That’s our only heart’s desire.

God, we have so many prayer requests to cover. We lift each and everyone up to you, knowing that you have every life and every circumstance in your hands and use everything for the good of those who love you.

Lord, thank you for the favor that you put on our lives, including Janet’s husband Lennox in Trinidad:

Job for husband. Name Lennox. He has interview on Monday. He is unemployed and life is difficult at present. We have an eight year old son.

Help Gus in Quezon City, Philippines find work as well, Lord. Thank you for your blessings and deliverance!:

Please pray for me, that I will have a regular job, I have been looking for work to no avail, that my home will be restored as I am homeless and that I will receive financial deliverance as I am badly in debt. I am praying for God’s grace, blessings and deliverance NOW in Jesus’ name.

Thank you for your hand on Sydney’s life:

Please pray for my nephew, Sydney. He is facing some very serious charges and has a court appearance tomorrow. Please pray for a good outcome – charges dismissed, bail reduced. Please pray for his lawyer and that the judge will be fair. Please pray for my nephew to have strength and start to re-build his life.

Bring peace and understanding to Julie’s marriage in Georgia, USA, Holy Spirit:

Please pray for my husband and I. We have a horrible time communicating. Every little fight turns into a big one because we don’t communicate well We both say horrible nasty things, talk down to each other and yell. I love him but I am not sure how much more I can take. I am not happy and haven’t been in some time. I have put up a wall he hasn’t tried to climb because my feelings get hurt by what he says. I feel as if my feelings always cause fights and I don’t know what to do any longer. Please pray for us.

My husband and I desperately need a financial move from God. Both of us have not worked for almost four years, just solely depending on God. Bills are backed up. Mortgage, water, cable, light. We have 5 kids ages 13, 10, 4, 2, and 11 months. Please pray that every stronghold would be pulled down and that God would divinely intervene on our behalf. That he would send finances from the north, south, east and west. That he would touch people’s hearts to be a blessing and that they would not have a problem being obedient. Please pray for my husband Charles, he has left our thirty year marriage and is living with another woman.

Lord, thank you for the work that you are doing in Kellie’s heart in Oregon:

My entire life I have been arrogant, selfish and have far to easily lost my temper. Recently, I lost my temper over something little, and I said things that can’t be taken back: awful things that I am ashamed I said, and many of them were untrue things about his family, all because I was angry. This caused my fiancé to break off our relationship, saying that I need to change. As awful and heartbroken as I am this is what I needed to see my wrong: that I am arrogant, and selfish and anger to easily and I am now committed to change. I need to change, and committed and can already feel God starting to work in me.

Please pray that I can truly make a change and make a change quickly so that I will no longer hurt those I love. Also, pray that I will continue to seek after God like this even when the heartbreak ends and when I start to feel normal again. And that I will do so in a way that honors God. Pray that I can mend things with his family and that their hearts will be softened towards me and that they will be able to see my change and accept me back into their home. And pray the same for my now ex Fiance, that he will be able to see my change and we can start anew and live a God honoring life together. Also pray that through faith these things can happen and that I will look towards my faith during my struggles.

Lord, thank you for Terese in Orlando, Florida. Thank you for opening a safe dialogue between Believers and people who have either lost their faith or who have never believed. They are all precious:

I pray that God will reveal himself to me. I was a born again Christian and have totally lost my faith. I even wonder how educated people can believe in the Bible (I know…sounds terrible). I feel I need a real miracle to believe again.

Help Cindy, in Georgia, USA, Lord. You are our God who provides:

I have a mortgage payment and a couple of other bills not including my utilities. Several years ago my spouse died and I only had enough insurance to bury him and I thank God for that. I struggled trying to make ends meet. finally I was able to refinance my mortgage and it helped a little. I had a 10% cut in pay and borrowed some money trying to get by and this only made things worst. A few yrs ago I thought God placed a man in my life for a help meet. Boy was I wrong about that. He pays the electric bill and home phone bill. I’m working 60 hrs. a week only to hear him complain that I’m never home. I can’t make it on less pay, but he doesn’t offer to help any more. I am so physically and mentally spent I can’t hardly think. I am a Christian I go to church and I pray daily I teach a class in church. I’ve prayed for God to intervene but I just don’t see any results it seems that things get worse.I’m almost to the point of just not going back to church and see if Satan will leave me alone. I’m just to tired to fight and don’t know how longer I can go on working 60 hrs a week.

My brother urgently needs somewhere safe to stay for the next couple of months, The stress of the situation we are going through is really terrible and is tearing the whole family apart. I’m newly married and came to Kampala but my husband don’t love me due to his job tension and I’m not getting job, so please pray for me so that I get my husband love and good job.
