A Quick Note Before We Pray

For those of you who submitted prayer requests over the last few weeks, please know that I have prayed for all of them, but wasn’t able to post a prayer because I was out of state adopting a new baby boy, my fourth son. God is so good! Here’s a blog post that I was able to pop into the site late one night in California. Okay, let’s pray…

Jesus, help us to find our places in the body of Christ and to glorify you with the gifts that you’ve given us…

1 Corinthians 12:15-18 KJV (15) If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? (16) And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? (17) If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? (18) But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

It’s so easy for us to get caught up in the seemingly more glamorous or successful lives of others, Lord, but we want to be at peace with the callings and giftings that you’ve placed on each and every one of us. Your Word would not say, “Whatever you do, do to the Glory of the Lord” if you were only glorified through televangelism or being a worship leader.

Holy Spirit, some of us feel like we have no clue what you’ve called us to, or what gifts you have for us. For these people, Lord, I pray that you would give them a deeper understanding of what is available to them; the things that you have already placed in their lives for them to use to your glory. Give them a passion for you and not a vocation.

God, we pray for unity on a regular basis here at GivenLife.com, and we lift up that prayer again today. Help us to always remember that your body isn’t made up of “eyeballs”, and that we would be fools to condemn others for not being like us. Help us to just focus on being Christ-like and not worry about anything, and especially not anyone, else. Bring the members of your body closer together, Jesus! Help us to work together in glorifying you!

Lord, we lift up Heather’s prayer request from Canada:

We currently do respite care for a young man who recently does not want to come to our home. We are not sure what happened as we treat him as if he was one of our own children. As we desperately need this job. Please pray that we will once again have a good bond with this young man and that he wants to spend time with us.

Thank you, Lord, for Lakshmi, a Christ-following teacher in India:

Lord,
Please pray for my students who have recently written their Board examinations. The results will be announced soon. Please bless all of them. I need prayers so that they get good scores in all subjects. Please pray the number of A+ increases this year, especially English.

Lord, we lift up Lynn, her family, and her home to you!

I need a miracle that is emergency situation. Please help pray that the Lord will protect/shield our home and some how some way that He will bless us with money to take care of our home, and a miracle to be able to live at our home for years to come and not be evicted out. Thank You for your help in prayer. Blessings from the Lord to you.

My name is Terri. I live in Texas. I am disabled and a mother of 3 children. We are having really hard times right now. It is so hard to make ends meet on just my ssi and child support each month. I know others out there are hurting too, just as we are, and I pray for them every day. I feel myself slipping away and can’t seem to get out of the slump I am in. I am now on depression meds due to my depression getting so bad. I am asking for prayer for me and my family. It would just make me feel a little more secure in my life. I am doing the best I can being a single parent…. But we go from food pantry to food pantry just to be able to eat at times. I am on food stamps, but those don’t last long with the prices of food nowadays. Thank You for your time. Blessings to you.

Father, I need you more than yesterday, more than words can say during this season in my life. As a single mother having raised my twins alone, you know my moments of distress and weakness.. Lord, we pray for Maryke and her husband in South Africa:

I would like to ask that you pray for my husband and I to conceive a child. He has low sperm count and We only apparently have 1 and a half percentage to conceive. But I know God is bigger than this. I just need some prayer partners. The second thing, my family seems to drive me insane. They are the most meanest people I’ve ever met and hardly feel like my family. So please if you can pray so I stay strong and not fall under the pressure they give me.

Jesus, we pray for Christine and her unborn baby in Florida. Bring healing to this child, God:

Please Pray for my baby. I recently found out in my pregnancy my child has severe deformities in one of his legs and is missing the other. He is also missing one of his kidneys. Which means he will have to be put on a donor list waiting for any. This could impact his neurological ability to function. Today I get back news on all the results. Please pray that the results come back in a more positive light and that the baby is healed.

Lord, we lift up Cindy’s prayer request for Philip in Canada:

THANKS for praying for Philip, 19 years old, and needs direction in his life. Also, if he could find a steady job, and to desire to work at something he truly loves. I worry too much because he wants to hitch-hike again. Please pray for God to give him new hope, and that he would receive health, and life to his soul, body and mind. Also, my friend lost her mom, for comfort and peace to be her.

We also pray that Gene from Florida, would find a good job this week.

Touch Charles with your healing power, Lord:

Please pray for me. My name is Charles, I am 36 years old and I am from Montreal, Canada. I have inflammations in my intestines & in my eyes. It is caused by my immune system “over reacting.”

Please pray for the healing of my immune system so that it can function “properly” again. I am in desperate need of healing because the medications have lots of side effects.

Please pray my husband can see and visit with his biological mom and family. Ever since he found out he was adopted his only dream and wish is to meet his biological mom and family. Please pray she will want to see him and visit with him. This is so important to him thank you for your prayers.

God, thank you for Diane. She sounds like such a powerhouse in the body of Christ. Move this baby, Lord!:

I am 34 weeks pregnant. I was told that my baby is in a transverse/breech position and He should be head down position by now. Please pray that my baby will turn to head down position so I can have a natural and normal vaginal delivery without any complications. No c-section for me. So I can take care of my 14 month daughter while nursing and take care of my son and serve God at our church. Also praying that my baby will come out healthy and strong!

Lord, bring healing to Jeannette’s mother:

Please pray for my mom today and tomorrow. She is currently going in for a CT scan following up on lung cancer surgery she had last September. Please pray that she continues to be cancer free and complication free and that is given only good results and lives a very long and healthy life. Thank you and bless you so much for your time.

Holy Spirit, help Matasha. Mend her hurting heart:

Prayer for myself and my ex boyfriend Joshua. We had a huge fight that got out of hand that ended our relationship on a bad note. I pray for a healing of this situation. That we can have peace with each other and resolve our issues and not have a bad vibe within each other even if we aren’t together anymore. Prayer for Joshua because I feel he lost touch with God and himself and me. I pray he will soften his heart towards me and get an understanding of me and forgive me for the hurtful things I have said and done unto him. And that I will forgive him and myself as well. We ask for healing in Barbara’s body and strength for Matthew as he walks through this situation with his mother:

Please pray for my mother Barbara to be healed of brain tumors as the doctors have done all they can.
