I’m in California, waiting to adopt a new son. It’s been a roller coaster experience, with more joys and stresses and I could ever have anticipated. I know that God is already working wonderful miracles in our lives and the lives of the people we have encountered out here.
I have already been overwhelmed by the new facets of God that I’m discovering during this adoption journey. I have learned so much about being a son of God from being a father to my three biological sons. Adoption is opening up new doors of understanding and blessing, and this adoption journey has really just begun as far as our new son is concerned.
This poem is just one of the blessings that have come out of our time here:
Source of My Love
Forlorn and lost,
Ashamed and angry,
I was alone and bitter.
You sought me out.
You called me with a new name.
You knew the truth about me,
The truth with which you created me.
You called me with those same words:
Words of pure love that no one,
No soul had ever uttered.
Your love pierced the darkness.
Your love brought new breath to my lungs;
New light to my eyes.
In you, I am whole.
In you, I am at peace.
In you, I know my true self.
In you, I know true love.
You are my selfless, sourceless lover.
You fill me, my entire life, with passion:
Passion for more of you.
