God, we’ve built up walls around us and harden our hearts. We have our defenses up so that we can’t get hurt, but you won’t come in and work in us and we won’t produce good fruit if we won’t let you in. Holy Spirit, tear down the walls of our hearts. Destroy our idols. Break us. It will be painful, but we trust you, God. We need your love and strength in our lives. Soften our hearts. Make us tender-hearted for the first time in a long time. Then, when we are completely broken and defenseless, we will lean on you, God, and we will rebuild our hearts to your specifications, according to your will. Build us up again to be warriors and priests for you, Lord. Re-build us in your image so that people will look at us and the fruits of our life and see your glory in us. We need you, Jesus. We love you and worship you with every fiber of our being.
