Jesus, your Word praises the simple-hearted. It also says that it is easier for a camel to fit through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into heaven. I think it’s probably even hard for intellectuals because they are so lead by their minds and can be out of touch with their hearts. Holy Spirit, break through the intellectual barriers that these people have put up and show them the simplicity of the love relationship that you desire from them. Help them to push aside their questions long enough to give faith a chance. Father, some of these people are just too smart for their own good! Give us simple hearts, the hearts of children.
Mark 10:13-16 13 People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. 14 When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” 16 And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.
