Let’s pray for Terrance:
Father, we trust you with our finances. We know that you can do the impossible. Help us to remember your Word and not to waste our life worrying:
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Holy Spirit, every ounce of our flesh rages against those words. We want to be in control. We want to make our destiny with our own hands…but that’s not your way. Holy Spirit, give us your peace that surpasses all Earthly understanding. Again, we come to the cross and lay our lives down before you. We crucify our flesh so that you can walk in your Spirit (Galations 5:24-25). Holy Spirit, search our hearts and reveal anything that is hindering us from a closer walk with you. We need uninterrupted communication between you and us, God. Help us to get rid of any junk that we may be clinging to in our hearts.
God, show Terrance that you are in control, and that you will take care of him and his family. Lord, use this situation to show your glory. Let this situation add to Terrance’s testimony about how awesome you are, God. Help the other people in his company to look at Terrance and his wife and say, “Why aren’t you freaking out!? They aren’t paying us!” And Terrance and his wife can then begin to witness to their coworkers that they have a more gracious and faithful Boss. We love you, Jesus. We lift you up above all else in our lives. Thank you, Jesus.
