Uncomfortable In Our Own Skin
Jesus, keep us mindful that everything around us will someday pass away, and we will be transformed when we go to live with you in eternity. Help us to keep our priorities straight in that mindset. People are the only things that really matter. Give us an incredible capacity for loving one another. Make us humble and forgiving. Help us to be peacemakers. When we get caught up in the things of this life, we tend to become crass and mean-spirited. Keep us focused on the things that really matter. Keep us from getting too comfortable in this life. Guard Our Mouths
God, help us to guard our mouths. You said so wisely in your word that the tongue is full of poison. Thank you for the gift of self-control. Increase self-control in us so that we don't give into the urges of our flesh to tell someone off or say other things that will hurt our witness as a child of God. Thank you, Father.
