A Prayer for Elections and Halloween
Father, watch over our country in these times of uncertainty. We ask only that your will be done on the elections this year. Put it on the hearts of "values voters" to get out there and vote.It's Halloween, God, and it's a scary time of year. We know we have nothing to fear with a God like you on our side. We pray that people's eyes would be opened to the reality of this "holiday". Keep kids safe as they go out trick or treating. Thank you, Father.

Our Time In This World
Father, it's tough sometimes for us to keep the right perspective on this life. This world is not our home, but we spend every minute of every day here. Being so immersed in the world's influences makes it difficult sometimes to remember that we're supposed to be in the world, but not of the world. Holy Spirit, as we spend time with you every day, check our hearts and trim back any parts of the world that we have allowed to snake their way into us. The very fact that we're alive and that you paid the debt of our sins is the greatest blessing of all time. Give us the courage and wisdom of how to share this blessing with other people. We're Back Online, Praise God!
Before I get to the prayer, I want to briefly explain our prolonged outage. The power back-up to our server died, and in my house, the wiring is so old that the back-up is necessary because the circuit breaker frequently trips. So, we got a new back-up, but then our IP address changed, so we had to re-point our domain name! But God made it all pretty easy to fix. It just took a little longer than I would have liked :) Thanks for being patient while I worked on the problem.
