Thank You For Guiding Our Hearts
Holy Spirit, thank you for guiding our hearts. We lay them open to you, Lord. The lives that you have given us are so precious. We want to use every second for your glory. Until you call us home, we want our lives to bear proof of our salvation, that Jesus changed us forever. Forgive us of the times when we have closed our hearts to you with sin, Jesus. Thank you for cleansing us in those times and for the times in the future when we will undoubtedly go astray and sin again. Father, today we pray for people struggling with mental illness. Help them to get the help they need. Whether that's counseling, drugs, your healing touch, or in most cases, a combination thereof, Lord, give them wisdom. Grant patience to the loved ones who are having trouble dealing with the mental illness that is straining the relationship with their friend or family member. Thanking God for who you are. Spend some time meditating on that. If you have any reservations about that thought, for instance, "Yeah, God made me who I am, but I eat too much!" or "If God made me who I am and put me where I am today, then why am I waist deep in debt," cry out to God with those hurts and questions, and He'll show you the answer. Don't be surprised if the answer points to changes that you need to make in your life, but trust that God will be faithful to help you make those changes. He loves you, and He wants to see you be prosperous, healthy and happy. Beyond those things, He wants you to know that despite whatever your circumstances may be, He loves you just the way you are.

Lord, keep us healthy. Help us to make wise decisions to be good stewards of the body that you have created for us. Rick. He is undergoing a liver treatment involving weekly injections and daily meds. Pray that he will not develop severe anemia, that there will be no bad side-effects, and that he will not have to be hospitalized. Pray that Rick's body will fight against his HIV and his Hepatitis C. Pray for God's strength and mercy in Rick's life. Ask that this trying time would draw Rick closer to God than he's ever been and that he will feel God's loving help during these trials.

Opportunities to witness in words and action. Listen to the Holy Spirit. He may tell you something as simple as, "Go ask that old man if you can go get his order (at McDonalds)." That happened to me the other day. I made an excuse in my head, then turned around after putting my food in the car. The poor old guy had shuffled his way up to the counter and was waiting, stooped with a curved spine, waiting for his coffee. I missed the opportunity. Listen to the Lord, pray for boldness and courage, and do His will. You'll feel so alive in what you do for Him.
Please also pray for Karen and Evelyn. Both are having stomach trouble. Karen is in the hospital. Pray for supernatural healing. Pray that if these illnesses have spiritual roots that the Holy Spirit would work in their hearts and rid their lives of the stress or emotional trauma that is making them sick. Ask that God would touch them with His healing hand and make them whole again.

Israel. A change in government will take office on Thursday in Israel. Pray that this change will come about peacefully. The new regime plans to re-annex the Gaza Strip and much of the West Bank. This will mean bloodshed between Israelis and Palestinians. Pray that in these times, Israelis would find a closer walk with God and a relationship with Jesus. Pray that the U.S. government will support the new Israeli government.
